OMPP warns about a person falsely presenting himself as its president

The World Organization for Peace (OMPP · WOFP) has issued a statement, signed by its president and founder, Carlos Peralta, warning that Samuel Delgado Cedillo presents himself online as the organization’s “global president” without holding that position.

According to the statement, Delgado Cedillo is not a member of OMPP, and the documents circulating online under his signature were not authorized by the Ethics Committee and do not represent the institution. The organization also makes clear that appointments and distinctions granted by him have no connection with it or with its programmes.

Only one World Organization for Peace

OMPP recalls that it has been registered in Geneva, Switzerland, since 2006 as a non-profit entity and has 185 secretaries general in as many countries. The statement notes that the structure set up by Delgado Cedillo, who is based in Mexico, was registered with a Chamber of Commerce and is unrelated to the organization.

The organization’s books

The statement also denounces the improper use of two OMPP works. The first is Messages of Peace for the New Millennium, which gathers peace messages from the presidents of 192 countries and was conceived as a tribute to the United Nations. Its author is Carlos Peralta, who worked for eleven years with a team that visited 190 nations; Kofi A. Annan supported the project from 1997 and signed the book’s opening, published in Switzerland and Italy in 2001.

The second is Football and Peace in the World, agreed with FIFA and signed by the secretaries general of 207 national associations and federations and of the six continental confederations.

The organization invites the public to rely only on its official channels for information about its work and its authorities.
